Why don't the metrics in Shortimize perfectly match what I see on the native platform (e.g., TikTok, Instagram)?
The discrepancy is typically due to two main factors: the data refresh frequency and the nature of large-scale data tracking.
1. Data Refresh Rate
While platforms like Instagram or TikTok can show you near real-time updates for your own account, Shortimize is designed to track thousands of accounts at scale simultaneously (including accounts you don't own). This requires a different approach.
Default Refresh Times:
Launch Plan: Your data is updated by default every 24 hours.
Scale Plan: Your data is updated by default every 12 hours.
This means there can be a natural lag between the live number on the platform and the latest data point in Shortimize.
How to Get Faster Updates: We offer upgrade options for more frequent updates. You can increase your refresh rate to every 4 hours or even every 1 hour. You can manage this setting on the Settings > Usage page.
2. Standard Data Variance
Due to the complexities of aggregating data from multiple sources at a massive scale, a small variance is normal and expected. You may see a difference of up to +/- 5% between the data in Shortimize and the native platform. This is a standard aspect of large-scale analytics.
